Illness
If your child is ill please keep him/her at home until he/she is fully recovered.

Please email the school pontingj@redoaks.org.uk if you need to keep your child at home. Please include your child's name and class and the reason for their absence.

The school has a computerised attendance system and it is essential that all absence is supported by a note, email, verbal message or telephone call.

Any unexplained absence will be termed as ‘unauthorised’.

Holidays
Due to legislation from September 2013, head teachers are unable to authorise holidays in school time unless there are special circumstance. Unfortunately, this does not include cheaper holidays, celebrations (other than religious), surprise events, visiting relatives, unavailability of flights or work constrictions of parents. The school recognises the importance of family holidays but this is out of our control. From January the school will be sending penalty notices for anyone who takes their children out of school during term time unless it has been authorised. The money from all fines is returned to the Local Authority.
