Feb 20: A fabulous end to the half term
The Nursery children had great fun making their own castles for princesses and knights to live in and for 'Zog' the dragon to visit. The children learned to say the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff and Little Red Riding Hood with actions, following the story maps.
The Nursery children also learned about Chinese New Year and the 'Animal Race' story, which explains how the years were named. They found out that it was the year of the 'Rat'! Then the children had fun performing some dragon dances to music and playing some percussion instruments. The children then chose to make either a ‘Chinese Lantern, a fan or a dragon.
The children also made 'Fairy cakes' with Miss Newton, which were delicious. Plus they were very excited when their parents and Carers came to share books with their children, during relative reading. What a busy few weeks!
